Ultrasonic Velocity Profiler (UVP) measures liquid flows velocity as a function of distance, using a pulsed-Doppler based method. It uses the following principles :

  • Pulsed emission of ultrasound signals
  • Echography : echo reception as a funtion of time
  • Detection of the Doppler shift frequency
